Peacoat is too heavy for effective home washing. This will

have to go to the drycleaners. Make sure they use Perc (name brand dry

You can hand wash it in cold water & Woolite.as a matter of
Kiwi
fact you'd be best off putting it in the washer on a short, delicate cycle

using the same things. Don't forget that when a tightly woven wool like

wring it out by hand. Let the machine do the work & do not hang it when

it comes out. Block it with towels in the sleeves, button it & let it dry
naturally. When it is almost dry, use a good clothing brush on it being
certain to brush in downward strokes only & then hang it to dry the rest
of the way keeping dry towels in the sleeves & being certain the collar &
cuffs are nicely rolled. The only thing you won't have when it is done is
the fabric protector that was on it but you can buy Scotchgard in any
supermarket & finish it that way. If you must take an iron to it, use a
kitchen towel & iron through that. If you've taken care in the drying you
shouldn't have to. Sounds like a pain in the toot but it is not at all
difficult to do. Good luck!

Because the wool fabric for making peacoats is felted and not
lala
knit, it it best to have it dry cleaned. If you do try to wash it. it

It says dry clean only for a reason, don't risk it.
